Universal healthcare also
called universal health coverage or universal coverage
or universal care refers the health care system
that provides health care and financial protection to all residents of a
particular country or region it is organized around providing a specified
package of benefits to all members of a society with the end goal of providing
financial risks protections, improved access to health services, and improved
health outcomes.
The Director General of the organisation
of WHO (World Health Organisation) describes the universal health coverage as
the ‘a single most powerful concept that public health has to offer’ since it
unifies ‘the services and delivers them in a comprehensive and integrated way’.
One of the goals with universal healthcare is to create the system of
protection which can provide equality of the opportunities for people to enjoy
the highest possible level of health.
Balanced diet
Balanced diet is the one that includes all the types of
food, that is carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, minerals and water in sufficient
amounts to meat the needs of a person.
However, the correct proportion o these nutrients vary with
age, gender, body size and level of activity
of the individual. That’s why we call it the universal healthcare
because it covers children, adult and old person, women and men etc.
Different groups of people require different amounts of food
depending on their age, sex, activity and state of the body.
Now, we learn about the different groups of people and their
requirement so as to keep the health of their body safe all the time.
Ø The
first group is the elderly.
The elderly is the group that always in our community they don’t
care their health, so they don’t give them their special requirements.
The elderly do not engage in a lot of activity and therefore
they require less energy. However, they need more food that will boost their
immunity, they also require foods that will help them in building their bones
in their body.
Note;
This age group have faced with a lot of problems because of
their body to be weak, the problems such as loss of teeth and lack of appetite.
Therefore, in their healthcare we need foods that are soft and prepared in
attractive ways.
Ø The
second group is expectant and lactating mothers.
This group, we can say that it is the special group because
they require food in higher qualities as the foetus growing in them also need
to be nourished. This group they most require the food that contains more
protein for the formation of bones and tissue of the foetus .
Lactating mothers
Lactating mothers are breastfeeding mothers. This group in
their healthcare they need the food that contain more nutrients because this
integrated in the milk that is taken in by the baby, also they need to maintain
their health.
Ø The
sick and people with HIV/AIDS.
This is the group that have diseases in their body according
to different causes or factors. Therefore, they need balanced diet in their
body so as to maintain their health. Most of these sick people usually they
have not appetite to eat, they should be encouraged to eat foods. Also people
living with HIV/AIDS need to eat a balanced diet, the food must rich in
proteins to help in building their antibodies and will boost their immunity
against diseases.
